Reviews from Anchorage:

Possibly it was the writing, as much as anything. Tom Hanks was perfectly fine, though not extraordinary. Ian McKellen was grand. Paul Bettany stole my brain.
Ate Sushi (and Tempura) - NUMMMMM!
Got hairs cut - I like it. I really like the cut. It's versatile and does good things to my face. I'll make someone take pictures at some point.
X-3 - Again, better than I expected. I think, if we hadn't had 1 and 2 to set us such high expectations, we'd ahve walked out of the theatre saying, "That didn't suck!" and meaning it as much of a compliment as we did after watching the first. That said, it had its problems. My biggest meta-complaint, though, is: Where was Kurt? I don't mind that he wasn't in the film. I don't know /why/, but presumably there was a good reason for it. Fine. But - it was like he never existed, and /that/ bothers me. What would it have taken to add a line that said, "I wish Kurt could be here." How hard would that have been? Oh, well. On the other hand, I think Hugh Jackman has such a grounding in who Wolverine is that he saved some pretty iffy writing with some exceptional acting.
New Camera - HP Photosmart M425. I like it a lot. It has a decent optical zoom, and a little note when you start using the digital, and a warning when it thinks your picture is going to be crap if you add anymore digital zoom. I haven't experimented with any of the other modes, yet, but the automatic has done quite well. It has a burst feature, which I think will be very useful when I try to take pictures of NYO stuff (or other sporting events). I really wish it had an optical viewfinder, but I think I will eventually get over that. It's nice and small, and light, and I got a case for it which sits nicely on my belt. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. (You can see some of the pictures I took with it at the Tualatin Valley Wildlife Park in my LJ scrapbook. I also got clever and started putting up old pictures.)
