Last night I dreamt that, while staying at a hostel (possibly the one in Hawaii, though it was a different physical structure), the staff found a bunch of video tapes that another guest had left. I offered to trade them the combination microwave - toaster oven that I had purchased for use while staying there (because it was big and would cost too much to take with me, and I would have no place to put it once I got home). The only problem was, I didn't want the tapes for myself, I wanted to send them to Harold and I didn't have Harold's address.
You see, the tapes were all brand spankin' new, still in the cellophane, mint condition copies of old ILS episodes.
I hear you ask, "What is ILS?" Well, it stands for International League of Superheros, and the main character was Superman. (Don't bother me with facts. This was my dream and I don't care if it never really existed.) There were 8 tapes, the first of which was titled Superman and the Pirates. (Each tape had two 2-part episodes, so it wasn't the complete series.)
I was explaining to the staff, who were very happy to take my microwave and get rid of the tapes, that, while I wanted them, I had to go find the address for a friend, because I didn't want them for myself, but I knew that he would enjoy them.
The staff member at the desk wanted to know how much my friend would appreciated them. I patiently explained that my friend Harold was a really big Superman fan - well, not so big as my other friend who named his son Kal-El, but that person was a penciler for the series, so what could you expect.
At the end, Sarah (the staffer at the desk) got permission from her superior to keep the tapes behind the desk until I could get a box and find Harold's address.
So, Harold, want a bunch of ILS video tapes?
